Student Application Guidelines



Student Application Guidelines for the Biomolecular Sciences Ph.D. Programme

 

1-   The student obtains the application package from admissions.  This package requests that the student:

 

a) fills out the application form

b) provide an official transcript

c) arranges for three letters of reference to be sent to the admissions office

d) gives a statement of why they want to pursue graduate studies

 

The student should return the completed application form, transcript and statement to the admissions office.  When the  admissions office has a complete package they will forward it to the BMS Programme Coordinator.

 

2-   The BMS Programme Coordinator reviews the application and forwards it to the BMS Programme Admissions Committee.  The BMS Programme Coordinator, BMS Programme Admissions Committee, recruiting Faculty Member and in the case of reclassification, the student's Supervisory Committee must agree that the student is admissible to the BMS Programme.  The BMS Programme Coordinator and the BMS Programme Admissions Committee will also review the recruiting Faculty Member for financial responsiblity.

 

The BMS Programme Coordinator forwards a "Graduate Student Record Form", transcript, letters of recommendation, letter of recommendation from the Supervisory Committee and letter of recommendation from the recruiting Faculty Member to the School of Graduate Studies.

 

3-   Upon acceptance by the School of Graduate Studies a letter will be sent to the student indicating their acceptance to the BMS Programme and that the student should contact the BMS Programme Coordinator after they have registered with the School of Graduate Studies.

 

4-   Upon acceptance the BMS Programme Coordinator and the student will fill out the appropriate GTA application forms.
