Laurentian offers a three and four year Bachelor of Arts degree in French.  The three year general program is available as a single or combined concentration while the four year honours program is offered as a single or combined specialization.  All programs are designed to accommodate the needs of French or English speaking students and cover French literature, language, linguistics, and culture.  Students must write a placement test (Test Laval).  Please visit the department of French Studies (Department d'études françaises) website to learn more about the program.

Work prospects

In Canada the average rate of employment for French graduates is 95% two years after entry into the work force.  The average yearly earnings for those with this degree is approximately $26,500.  However pay varies greatly with location, specialization, and level of experience.  Job satisfaction among graduates is roughly 87%, while 80% would choose to make the same educational choice again.

Work prospects are fair.  Competition among new graduates is expected to be average with the majority of competition coming from other graduates in Education and Communications.
