The Physics Department offers a specialized four year undergraduate program, a three year general program, and a research based Masters Degree. The general program has as Biomedical Physics option and four Physics courses directly related to the Health Sciences. A College transition / degree completion program for College and Cancer Center Graduates of programs in Medical Radiation Technology and Therapy is also available. Some courses are offered in French. Areas of employment
Graduates qualify for employment in business and government in many areas related to physics. A sample includes biophysics, geophysics, and health and medical physics. Laurentian graduates have found careers as geophysicists, scientists, teachers, professors, researchers, software engineers, and more. In Canada a small majority graduates find employment as Computer and Information Systems Professionals.

Work prospects
The rate of employment for Laurentian graduates in the physical sciences is 100% two years after entry into the work force. In Canada the average yearly earnings for those with a degree in Physics is approximately $30,700. However pay varies greatly with location, specialization, and level of experience. Job satisfaction among graduates is roughly 83%, while 79% would choose to make the same educational choice again.
Work prospects are fair. Competition among new graduates is expected to be average with the majority of competition coming from graduates of Computer Science and Mathematics.
