Processing & Computer Vision

This course introduces fundamental concepts and techniques for image processing and computer vision. Topics to be covered include an introduction to digital image processing, human visual perception, light and electromagnetic spectrum, image sampling and quantization, image enhancement in the spatial domain, histogram processing, basics of spatial filtering, image enhancement in the frequency domain, introduction to the Fournier Transform, image restoration, morphological image processing, edge linking and boundary detection, thresholding, region-based segmentation, object recognition and image understanding.
